Society of London Theatre (SOLT) and UK Theatre (UKT) have created TheatreMeansBusiness.info to host a range of digital learning resources that will support the theatre sector’s fightback against the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis on our organisations.
Even when our stages are dark, theatre means business.
Through an ongoing programme of webinars (both live and recorded) these resources will equip the sector with the tools to begin to rebuild itself.
TheatreMeansBusiness.info showcases a series of webinars presented by SOLT/UKT and hosted by experts in their field, as well as highlighting relevant webinars run by partner organisations from across the industry.
Who are these webinars for?
Some webinars have been designed to have broad appeal, others are targeted at specific groups with certain levels of knowledge. Maybe you’re working from home and planning your organisation’s future, maybe you’re furloughed and needing some stimulation before you return to work, or maybe you want to get some industry knowledge from experts in the field. We aim to cater for as much of the offstage industry as possible.
What topics will be covered?
The webinars will cover a range of relevant topics like business interruption planning, audience development following extreme events, and embedding diversity and inclusion into future planning. Ultimately TheatreMeansBusiness.info will provide support, guidance, insight, provocations and inspiration.
How many people can join the webinars?
Some will be available for a large number to join, others may require a smaller group number limit, depending on the format of the session. All information will be given on the webinar event pages.
Do I have to be a member of SOLT or UK Theatre to sign up?
Although SOLT and UKT are membership bodies, both organisations want to make their webinars available to as wide a group of people as possible, and most do not require membership of SOLT or UKT. Check the individual event listings for details.
Our training budgets have disappeared – how much will these webinars cost?
To make them as accessible as possible in this challenging climate we are hoping to make as many of these webinars free of charge. Some SOLT/UKT webinars may have the option of making a contribution which would be shared between the invited speaker/s and SOLT/UKT (many speakers have kindly waived their fee as a way of supporting the sector’s recovery). If you are able to make a contribution, please consider doing so to support the speakers and help us develop future programmes. Some partner webinars may have a cost attached. Partner listings should have a specific focus on theatre sector business recovery. SOLT/UK Theatre retain editorial control of this website and reserve the right to include or omit any partner listings at any point. If you would like your webinar to be listed on the site, please fill out this form.
