Katherine is the head of data and digital innovation for Golant Innovation, with a background in operations, project management, design, grant funding and research.
As a lifelong enthusiast for data, she works with organisations to discover, make sense of and improve the value in what they already have. This involves developing digital strategies for a range of organisations from theatres and heritage organisations to local authorities and start-ups. Frequently she can be found in client offices working one-on-one to develop individual skills or leading cross-organisation discussions to develop shared understanding.
She has led a £1.4m R&D AI project using metadata in the broader cultural sector for personalisation and taste profiling and managed the design and development of a bespoke CRM system for culture. Currently, she is leading development of a digital prototype for collecting data for un-ticketed audiences, in a project funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
She is passionate about skill development in the sector and convenes The Audience Agency’s public event programme. Katherine speaks and mentors on topics including data, systems, audience centred design and digital – including GDPR and CRM systems.
She was previously the VP of Operations at a technology start-up - a varied role that included setting up a US arm – and the knowledge management lead for an executive coaching company based out of Dallas, Texas in the United States.
Katherine read Psychology and Philosophy at Oxford. She created and coded a game that was shown at the V&A digital weekend.
